Can one skincare product really turn back time? That’s the bold claim of the CENTELLIAN 24 Madeca Cream Time Reverse, the star product of the K-beauty label that has gone social media-viral. Given the hype surrounding this moisturizer, we had to do a little digging for ourselves to see if it lives up to its reputation and if it’s worth a spot in your skincare routine. Formula: Right in its name you’ll spot Madeca, short for Madecassosside that’s derived from Centella Asiatica. We’re big fans of anything that includes Centella, because this ingredient is a powerhouse for comforting irritated skin and speeding up the skin’s natural healing processes. This formula features a whopping 12 types of Centella extracts and pharmaceutical-grade Active-TECA (a highly-purified form of Centella) developed by Dongkook Pharmaceutical to soothe and strengthen the complexion, fortifying it against further damage.

On top of that, it’s designed to tackle a host of other skin concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, and a dull and uneven skin tone. With well-loved ingredients like Glycerin, Niacinamide and Panthenol, you receive elasticity-supporting moisture for up to 240 hours, resulting in a luminous glow. This is a cream recommended for anyone looking to combat signs of aging, and while it does so flawlessly, its gentle yet potent ingredients make it suitable for a wide range of skin types having trouble with the aforementioned worries.

Texture and finish: Squeeze it out of its tube and you’ll be met with a lightweight yet nourishing texture. Within the cream are tiny capsules, due to the 3-Layer Liposomal Technology employed in its making to keep the ingredients as fresh as possible, and they blend into the cream as you apply it onto the skin. The protein-rich formula absorbs 251% faster into the dermis, and leaves behind a naturally brightened effect. No greasiness, no residue, it just sinks right in.

Packaging: The merits of this cream all lie in its formula, so in comparison its packaging is nothing too outstanding: a simple squeeze tube that lets you easily control how much product you’re dispensing at a time. The compact size doesn’t take up much space on a shelf, and is surprisingly handy to slip into a bag or travel with.

Other things to note: You won’t find any harmful additives or fragrance in this cream, so it’s good for use on all skin types including sensitive skin. It has a slight herbal scent that comes from the ingredients used that is inoffensive and dissipates soon after application.

Editor’s POV: The brand reports having sold at least 80 million bottles of the Madeca Cream and having tested it myself, to me this checks out. I was genuinely surprised that the first time I tried it on irritated skin overnight, I awoke the next morning to find my redness completely gone, dry skin quenched and an illuminated glow that lasted throughout the day. I’ve tested this in the daytime and nighttime, and my dry skin felt appropriately nourished and hydrated during both times of day; it even works well under sunscreen and makeup. Its fine line-improving properties may take a longer trial period for me to see visible improvements, but I have noticed balanced hydration levels, a more resilient skin barrier and a smooth, glowy appearance. The CENTELLIAN 24 Madeca Cream Time Reverse is a formula I’ve been recommending to friends and family, been repurchasing, and will continue to repurchase in the future.
