The Story of Millford

Jobie: Hi Miss Jeon, thanks for taking the time to join our VANA Chatroom. Could you tell us the inspiration behind Millford? Any beauty philosophy or brand motto?

Miss Jeon: With my family, I had the chance to visit Milford Sound on the South Island of New Zealand in 2007, which was fifteen years ago. The meeting point of the Sea and the River is this Milford Sound. Our trip as a family to the stunning Milford Sound was a blessing and felt like a gift to me. Through Millford, I would like to give people this feeling as a gift. The core of Millford's beauty philosophies is healthy and lovely skin, and the company sincerely hopes to be a gift to everyone for their own healthy and lovely skin as like our logo, gift box.

Jobie: As an up-and-coming skincare brand in the K-Beauty market, what is the first thing you want people to think of when they see Millford?

Jeon: In the world, there are too many skincare brands, particularly in the K-beauty market. I wanted to keep all of my sincere thoughts in reserve for any Millford product users. I hope Millford will be a reliable friend throughout their current skincare journey. I thought Millford products would look great on the daughter's vanity table, who is young and attractive, in the bathroom that the father and son with acne share, and on the still-beautiful mom's vanity table, where she worries about the wrinkles on her face.

Jeon: I want Millford to be known as a brand that appeals to people of all ages, including those in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. I want all of our cherished, admiring customers to be delighted and inspired by our products in terms of their appearance, feelings, and functionality. Jobie: Famous for the AC line including the well-loved AC Triple Acid Toner and the AC Bubbly Bubbly Wash-Off Pack, how did the idea of creating an acne care package come about?

Jeon: My daughters are in their late teens and early 20s. Our children had extremely sensitive skin and struggled with acne. Just as mother was preparing good and healthy meals for her kids using healthy recipes, I developed AC products in response to my children's worries and struggles with acne. I'm hoping that taking care of your skin will be fun and pleasant. To satisfy this need, we created the AC Bubbly Bubbly Wash-Off Pack.

Jobie: What would a Millford skincare kit look like if we want to prevent summer break-outs? What are the must-haves?

Jeon: Sunscreen, in my opinion, is one of the best ways to avoid summer breakouts. Sunscreen made by Millford is still being developed. But my top suggestion before applying sunscreen is our hydrating line. This hydrating line ought to be a necessity throughout the year, not just in the summer, to keep skin from becoming dry and rough in the heat and on chilly days. Since moisture and hydration are the most essential parts in skincare, keeping skin moisturized throughout the year is the best way to prevent aging and wrinkles. Feel free to have a little darker skin color outside in the hot sun. If your skin is still moist, it is still healthy even if it is a little bit brown.

Jobie: How did Millford discover the benefit of combining vitamin A + collagen to create the Vita-A & Collagen line? What is the primary skin concern it is designed to address?

Jeon: In reality, Millford is not in pursuit of anti-aging. We are considering slow aging. Humans cannot go against nature's laws, so we are unable to prevent aging. I think that regardless of whether someone has wrinkles or not, they are still all beautiful. Our goal is to prolong aging and keep skin looking young for a little while longer. Collagen is one of the best ingredients for this, in our opinion, as its effects almost reach anti-ageing. We chose fish collagen because it is more readily absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin and has greater effects when combined with vitamin A(Retinol).

Jeon: We used a high rate of these powerful ingredients to slow down the aging process of skin. For those who start to worry about wrinkles, I have also added the heart warming message "Everlasting Allure" to our Vita-A & Collagen line in the hopes that they will be inspired by this Millford message and smile every time they use Millford products on a daily basis.

Jobie: Does Millford believe in “minimalism” when it comes to formulating an effective skincare formula, for example the Deep Hydrating line?

Jeon: All of our Millford products are minimal and contain just essential ingredients. It contains a high percentage of essential ingredients, like Deep Hydrating Daily line. We concentrated on using high levels of the main ingredients that are related to hydration, such as Hyaluronic Acid and Panthenol. Since all of the ingredients are for hydration, it can be considered minimalist.

Jobie: Will Millford update their formula of the same product from time to time to keep up with customers’ need / feedback?

Jeon: Obviously, we always appreciate hearing from our customers. We are meticulously and carefully keeping track of client comments and ideas. This suggests that we also consider the formula for satisfying the requirements of customers for our product lines.

The Future for Millford

Jobie: Should we expect any new products from Millford any time soon?

Jeon: At the moment, sunscreen is not one of our offerings. It needs to grow more by paying attention to market demands and considering the safety of the entire family. A chic, transportable container and carefully chosen safe ingredients will be used to produce sunscreen.

Jobie: Any short-term or long-term goals for Millford?

Jeon: COVID-19 has significantly changed our way of life. We have virtual meetings, communicate on social media, and work from home. Behind the Pandemic situation, the SNS market enhanced, services such as food delivery service were expanded, and new businesses emerged, but we had to lose and sacrifice very valuable things. Without Pandemic, our goal would have been a commercial success. All of our passion, time, and energy would have been dedicated entirely to success. Our objective is to make Millford a community for anyone who values beauty, not just a commercial success. We will make friends in Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Abuja, Quebec, Johannesburg, Dubai, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Bogota, Cairo and Los Angeles thanks to this community.

Q: Any drying solution for acne-prone skin?

Jeon: AC On Spot Cream, which is one of our AC lines, intensively cares for and improves blemish spots. This is a ready-to-go blemish clearing spot cream which is the best preparation you will need to clear out your red and black spots. Spicule, the main ingredient, penetrates the skin surface and effectively improves the problematic area.

Q: Will there be a serum for the AC line?

Jeon: Our AC line does not have a serum. We have AC Oil-Free Hydrating Jelly which moisturizes skin by reducing water loss. This is a product that can replace Serum. As its main ingredient, this product contains 3 ingredients to hydrate your skin: Panthenol, Betaine and Arginine. Panthenol deeply hydrates and decreases water loss in the skin, leaving your skin moist and plump. Betaine is a humectant that moisturizes and soothes the skin. It is made from sugar beet and is also found in the skin. Arginine improves the visible hydration level of the skin and functions as an antioxidant.
