A: We want our customers to think of "a moment for themselves". Inspired by our slogan, “Take a shower, wash off the day”, anillO is designed to be the bridge between a hectic day and a restful night/moment. When you see our brand, we want you to feel an immediate sense of calm, knowing that our products will help you wash away not just the physical impurities of the day, but the stress and fatigue as well.

SV: If anillO could be described in three words, what three words would they be?

A: Clean. Vegan. Ritual.

SV: anillO is perhaps most well-known for the Rosy Night product range; what is the inspiration behind creating this signature line? What do you want customers to take note of when using the products?

A: The Rosy Night collection was inspired by the idea of deep, overnight restoration for hair, blending Damask Rose and nutrient-rich oils to achieve a radiant "glass hair" finish. When using the line, we want customers to experience the unique sensory transformation of our Ampoule Treatment, which shifts from a liquid to a rich, warming cream upon contact with water to deliver deep, silicone-free nourishment to both the hair and scalp.

SV: What is anillO’s process in creating and launching a new collection?

A: Our process starts by identifying a specific need in our customers' daily routines. Once we define the goal, we carefully select vegan ingredients and develop a "scent identity" that makes the routine more enjoyable. We spend a significant amount of time refining textures and fragrances, ensuring the product is both effective and a pleasure to use. Before any collection reaches our customers, it undergoes rigorous testing to ensure that the final ritual is as effective as it is comforting.

SV: anillO abides by vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable practices. Are there any challenges that come with doing so, and how does anillO overcome them?

A: The challenge lies in finding the perfect harmony between vegan ingredients and the high-quality textures we want to deliver to our customers. Creating effective products without traditional animal-derived stabilizers or softeners requires a much more patient and thoughtful development process. Our product development team overcomes this through a dedicated focus on innovation, testing countless plant-based alternatives until we achieve the exact sensory experience we’re looking for. We believe that staying true to our vegan values should never mean compromising on results, so we take the extra time to ensure every formula feels as refined as it is effective.

SV: As an initially haircare-focused brand, were there any thoughtful considerations that went into the making of your body care products?

A: We expanded into body care because we wanted to offer a complete, head-to-toe experience with anillO. Our goal was to take the same focus on quality and scent that we used for our hair care and apply it to the rest of the body. By doing this, we can provide a more consistent routine that helps our customers fully relax. For us, adding body care was about making sure every part of the shower routine works together to help you wash off the day and feel refreshed from head to toe.

SV: Are there any fun facts about anillO that few people know about?

A: There are a few interesting stories behind some of our most popular lines! Our Fig Whisky collection was originally intended to be a limited-edition release for the 2022 Christmas season. However, the response was so overwhelming that the first batch sold out almost immediately. Because our community loved the scent so much, we decided to keep it as a permanent collection and today, the Fig Whisky Body Oil is one of our most sought-after products.

A: A similar story happened with our “Shower Time” body care line. It actually began as a special collaboration with the fashion brand AMES. After seeing how much customers enjoyed the experience, we knew we had to bring it into our permanent lineup. Additionally, as part of our commitment to our values, AnillO donates a portion of its profits to the Animal Freedom Alliance to support efforts against animal testing.

SV: What is the one product from anillO’s collection that your CEO can’t live without?

A: Interestingly, almost everyone on our team chooses our Hair Essences as their favorite. Even though we have seven different types, it is the one category we all agree on for our daily routines. Everyone has a different favorite scent that fits their personal style, and it serves as the perfect final step in our routines, leaving the hair smooth and scented long after the shower is over.

The Future of anillO

SV: Any short-term or long-term goals for anillO?

A: In the short term, our goal is to introduce the AnillO experience to new markets, making the brand more accessible to a wider global community. Looking further ahead, we hope to become a globally recognized lifestyle brand that redefines how people view self-care. We want to promote the importance of a restorative ritual not just in the bathroom, but beyond.

SV: Should we expect any new products from anillO soon?

A: Following the successful launch of our Bitter Orange body care collection earlier this year, our product development team is now focused on a very exciting new project. While we can't share all the details yet, we can say it is one of the boldest challenges anillO has taken on so far. We are aiming to bring this new experience to life by the end of the year (hopefully!) and here’s a small hint: it is designed to fit the year-end season perfectly.

2. Which product took the longest to perfect and get right?

A: Our Dual-Layer Hair Mists were definitely the most challenging to develop. Because they combine two different textures—like oil or cream with a liquid or gel base—it took a significant amount of time to find the "golden ratio" that delivers high performance without feeling heavy. Beyond the formula, we even obsessed over the packaging and pump types for each scent, testing countless versions to ensure the mist sprays perfectly every time. It was a long process, but we refused to launch them until the balance of texture, scent, and application was exactly right.
