Summer has only just *officially* begun, but I’ve already fully immersed myself in the biggest makeup trend of the season: sunkissed makeup. Doing my makeup inspired by the sunlight and all its beauty gives me as big of a serotonin boost as actually spending time soaking up the rays (with SPF protection, of course). With a full roster of activities and get-togethers planned for the coming months, it’s the perfect time to flaunt my sun-spired makeup and celebrate the summertime.
I’m not the only one on this boat: the celebrities and K-pop idols are also getting with the trend and showing off their own renditions. Get to recreating the makeup looks of Kylie Jenner, Sofia Richie, IVE’s Yujin and more with the full lineup of K-beauty staples you need in your makeup bag, plus the essential tips to recreating their looks. The Joy of Summer
BRB, obsessing over Joy’s tomato red lip that is the epitome of summer. The head-turning shade is matched with a sweep of blush in the same color family and long lashes that give the eyes a contrasting innocent look. Roll up to your next pool party with this makeup and you’ll guarantee to be the center of attention.
1. Elongate the lashes with the peripera Ink Black Cara in 01 Long Lash. The thin brush separates each lash for sleek definition and makes it look as though you’ve applied extensions (of which if someone asks you about, you can nonchalantly tell them “I’m just wearing mascara!”).
2. With the MISSHA Cotton Blush in Carrot Butter Cream, apply it on the apples of the cheeks and blend it up to under the eye. This placement falls under Igari makeup, created by renowned Japanese makeup artist Igari Sinobu. It emulates the flush one gets when drunk, but no alcohol is needed to fawn over this cute blush technique.
3. Finish everything off with the Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint in BR401 Fig Red. Joy looks incredible in the shade and it’s one that suits a wide variety of skin tones.

Kylie Jenner’s pink-toned makeup look is giving “day out in the sun” and I am loving it. The vibrant pink flush immediately catches the eye, while the matching diamond-scattered eyeshadow and ultra-glossy lip complement the blush to a T. This look works for both day and night, which is perfect if you’ve got a packed summer schedule.
1. Apply the MEMBOX I’M MEME Jewel Topping Glitter Duo in 03 Pink Jewel across the eyes, blending it smoothly throughout the crease and evenly distributing the glitter across the lid. The chunky glitters catch the light and elevate it from a simple glittery pink shadow.
2. Let loose with the A’PIEU Juicy-Pang Water Blusher in PK02 Raspberry on the cheeks, blending it up to the temples and meeting the eyeshadow. By concentrating the blush on the cheeks and temples and leaving the rest of the skin bare, you get an over-blushed look that appears intentional rather than messy.
3. Kylie is rocking an impeccable glass lip, which can be achieved with the Kaja Gloss Shot in 02 Milk Tea. The milky nude shade doesn’t take away from the focal blush, but still highlights the lips.
Morning Sun Freshness
A sunkissed look doesn’t just have to be about that golden hour vibe - the morning sun is just as enticing and inspirational. The sunkissed skin, the tangy blush, the dreamy lip… it’s totally bride-approved, as demonstrated by Sofia herself, but I can definitely envision this as a beach day look.
1. Sofia famously rocked a drugstore bronzer to what is dubbed by some the “royal wedding of the year”. Get the look with the peripera V Shading palette in 02 Deep Brown; the bronze tones warm up the skin, at the same time sculpting the cheeks.

Golden Hour Goddess
I’m looking at Taeyeon's makeup and I don’t know which aspect to focus on first because each part of it is just flawless. The smooth skin, sunburnt blush, and glimmering highlight work together so well, and if you could capture golden hour in a makeup look, this would be it. I don’t mean to get all gushy on main, but I’m all heart eyes for the Girls’ Generation songstress.
